Welcome to the Tadley Youth Drama website

Tadley Youth Drama is a Christian-oriented organisation founded in 1985, based at Tadley Common Methodist Church (TCM), and drawing members of secondary-school age from all the churches in and around Tadley.  However, we encourage people to bring along their friends too, so our members need not be committed members of a church.

Beginning in January each year, the TYD group meets for rehearsals on Friday nights to prepare a musical play with a Christian theme, for performance in May.  It's great fun, and it's free.  Literally hundreds of local teenagers have enjoyed being part of TYD over the last 27 years, and they keep coming back!

There is also a more serious side to TYD activities: raising money for local charities; in the last few years we have been able to donate over £3,500 to such causes.

Tadley Youth Drama can be contacted by e-mail:

Our 2013 production was...

Jonah!

by Denis O'Gorman & Barry Hart

The 2013 production season is now over, and the cast and crew are taking a well-earned rest.

We'll back at the beginning of January with a new production, so please keep an eye on this website nearer the time.

Our 2013 production was...

Jonah!

by Denis O'Gorman & Barry Hart

This production has now finished - but we'll be back at the start of 2014 for another one!

A piece of history...

TYD was founded in 1985 and put on its first production the following year - and hasn't missed a year since.

Believe it or not, at least one member of the present production team, Barry Seymour, was also in TYD in those dim and distant days, and remembers it as if it was little more than a quarter of a century ago.

You may also notice a sprinkling of very well-known titles in the list opposite, showing that we can hold our collective head up with the best of the West End!

One of TYD's traditions is for each production to have its own logo, which appears on the T-shirts worn by cast and crew, on posters and programmes, and more recently on the website.

Below is a selection of these logos:

How the Gallery works...

We have arranged selections of images into slideshows, which are listed on the right.

When you click on a slideshow a set of "thumbnail" images should appear.

If you click on one of these, the full-size image will pop up in front of the thumbnails, and the slideshow should start automatically from that point
- if it doesn't, try clicking on the button.

You can control the slideshow using the following controls:

= start the show
= pause the show
= go forward to the next image
= go back to the previous image

To close the slideshow, click on .

Who is Mrs Fluffy?

"Mrs Fluffy" is the affectionate nickname of TYD's respected Secretary & Front of House manager.

To our visitors and audience, she's the smiling face who welcomes you to a performance.

To the Cast and Crew, she's "TYD Mum".

Mrs Fluffy is responsible for one tradition at TYD rehearsals, which has acquired the name "Boring Bits": this is the necessary admin stuff that lurks behind enabling a bunch of talented teenagers to produce a show worthy of the paying public.

The Members' Area section of the website contains some of those "boring bits", and as such is intended for the Cast and Crew rather than the casual visitor.

If you are a member of our Cast and Crew, to access this material you'll need the password which is available by e-mailing:

... or direct from Mrs Fluffy.

Members' Area

Members of the TYD Cast and Crew can access the "Members' Area" using a password, which is available from Mrs Fluffy.
